NASTY WOMEN AMSTERDAM

  Nasty Women Amsterdam (NL)
March 4 -12, Josilda da Conceição Gallery, Wormerveerstraat 15, Amsterdam

Opening reception: Saturday March 4, 16 - 20.00 hr

Nasty Women Amsterdam is a fundraiser: 184 Nasty Women artists (f/m) donated 240 works of art and protest art.
Why? Because a certain president is reducing women's rights and already advertised for this in the final presidential debate (2016) when he called Clinton a 'nasty woman'.

100% of sales will be going to women's rights: 'Women on Waves' (who deliver abortion pills to countries where it’s illegal), 'COC Amsterdam' (LGBTQ rights), and 'She Decides' (a new fund providing the abortion/family planning aid which helps women and girls in developing countries, that was recently suspended).

Prized from €1 - €200 >>>>cash and carry<<<<<. Paying with card possible/ pinnen mogelijk.

The Nasty Women fundrasing art exhibitions started spontaneous in New York City in January 2017, organized by Roxanne Jackson and Jessamyn Fiore. All worldwide Nasty Women events can be followed on: http://nastywomenexhibition.org/other-nasty-venues/

Essentie is an event: an art fair without booths per gallery, instead showing one artist per display. Therefore Essentie is also an exhibition, showing context with a selection of artists highlighting contemporary geometric abstract art in the Netherlands, and a platform connecting these artists. Simultaneously Essentie celebrates the 100th anniversay of the foundation of De Stijl and offers an educational program.
